3rd Assistant Engineer Position for Drillship in Offshore Operations – Prime Ocean Group

Prime Ocean Group is seeking to fill the position of 3rd Assistant Engineer on board a drillship in offshore operations. This role involves ensuring compliance with company policies, regulations, and environmental standards in platform operations. Responsibilities include conducting daily inspections, maintenance, and repairs on mechanical and marine equipment such as power plants, cranes, and drilling tools. It is necessary to maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the AIM system (Asset and Inventory Management) and ensure timely reporting. Additionally, routine maintenance will be coordinated with supervisors and relevant departments, ensuring proper documentation of repairs.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • USCG Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC)
  • STCW Medical Certificate
  • Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)
  • RigPass or SafeGulf

Additional Details:

The 3rd Assistant Engineer is expected to implement work permit and isolation systems, and assist in audit monitoring. They will also supervise the use and distribution of materials and consumables with the Second Engineer, generating requisitions when necessary. Verifying that third-party equipment is certified, correctly installed and maintained, reporting any technical issues to supervisors that may affect platform safety or operation. Additionally, participation in classification society surveys for continuous machinery inspections is required.
