The company requires a highly qualified Chief Engineer to join the international crew of the MV Louise Michel, a rescue vessel specialised in search and rescue operations in the Mediterranean.

- Salary: €6,000 gross
- Contract: Formal German seafarer contract with a 2:1 rotation (60 days on board / 30 days paid leave)

- Required Documentation: Valid Seafarer’s Book or German Seafarer Identity Card and Passport with at least 6 months validity
- Required Training: Chief Engineer Licence (STCW III/3 or III/2, minimum 3000 kW), STCW VI/1 (Basic Safety) and STCW I/9 (Medical Fitness for Seafarers)

Requirements
Valid Chief Engineer Licence (STCW III/3 or III/2), Equivalent Competency Certificate (Endorsement Recognition) from the German BSH if holding a non-German licence, extensive experience in engineering on board vessels, excellent command of English (written and spoken).
Responsibilities
The Chief Engineer will be responsible for the technical management of the vessel, including the operation, maintenance, and repair of the main engine, generators, and hydraulic systems. Additionally, they will actively participate in rescue operations, closely collaborating with the Captain and the Head of Operations, and will manage a dedicated team in the engine room. According to the international STCW convention, typical duties of this position include ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all engineering equipment and machinery on board the vessel.
