Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Command and navigate the vessel safely at all times
  • Ensure compliance with international maritime laws (SOLAS, MARPOL, COLREGS), flag state regulations, and company procedures
  • Supervise all vessel operations, including cargo handling, offshore support activities, towing, supply trips, and special projects
  • Maintain vessel readiness for operations, including safety equipment and certifications
  • Lead and manage the crew, ensuring proper discipline, training, and welfare
  • Ensure compliance with ISM Code, ISPS Code, and company safety management systems
  • Conduct safety drills and risk assessments
  • Establish contact with clients, port authorities, agents, and company management
  • Maintain accurate logbooks, voyage reports, and operational documentation
  • Ensure environmental protection measures are followed
  • Respond effectively to emergencies and incidents
