Requirements

• Valid and unlimited Certificate of Competency (CoC) as ETO (STCW Reg III/6) issued by the country of origin
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as ETO on DP-2 offshore vessels, including jack-up barges
• Practical knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems
• Practical knowledge of offshore cranes
• Experience in DP (Dynamic Positioning) system maintenance

Responsibilities

According to STCW, the typical functions of an ETO include: maintenance of the vessel’s electrical, electronic and control systems, supervision of automation equipment, and ensuring compliance with maritime safety regulations (SOLAS). On DP-2 vessels, critical responsibility for dynamic positioning systems is added.
