Responsibilities
- According to STCW, typical Deckhand (AB) functions include: navigation watches, manoeuvres, deck maintenance, mooring/unmooring operations, and emergency support
- On tugboats, active participation in towing operations and port assistance is expected
- Preparation of basic meals due to the cooking skills requirement
Required Documentation
- Valid Deckhand (AB) Certificate according to STCW
- Seaman’s Book
- Medical fitness certificate for navigation
- Basic safety training (STCW)
- Additional documentation according to company regulations and vessel flag state requirements
