Requirements

Functions
- According to STCW, typical functions of the Third Engineer Officer include: supervision of engine operations, maintenance of engine department equipment, engine room watches, and support to the Chief Engineer and Second Engineer. On heavy lift vessels, special attention may be required for crane systems and cargo handling equipment.
