Bosun – MV Ocean Voyager – Worldwide

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Bosun to join the crew of the MV Ocean Voyager, a cargo vessel operating on global routes. This is a permanent contract position with an immediate start date. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading deck operations, maintaining safety standards, and supervising deckhands.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Bosun or in a similar deck leadership role on cargo vessels.
  • Valid STCW certification (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers).
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to work on a worldwide itinerary, including ports in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in crew management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all deck operations, including cargo handling, mooring, and maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and conduct regular safety drills.
  • Supervise and train deckhands in proper procedures and equipment use.
  • Maintain deck equipment and inventory, reporting any issues to the Deck Officer.
  • Assist with navigation and watch duties as required by the Captain.

Contract Details

  • Salary: €3,500 per month, paid in Euros.
  • Contract Type: Permanent, with a 6-month initial probation period.
  • Start Date: Immediate, with applications accepted until 15 October 2024.
  • Work Location: Worldwide, based on the vessel’s itinerary (e.g., Rotterdam, Singapore, New York).
  • Accommodation and meals provided on board.
