Bosun – MV Ocean Voyager – Worldwide Itinerary

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Bosun to join the crew of the MV Ocean Voyager, a cargo vessel operating on a worldwide itinerary. This is a permanent contract position with an immediate start date. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading deck operations and ensuring the safety and efficiency of the vessel’s deck department.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Bosun or in a similar deck leadership role on cargo vessels.
• Valid STCW certification (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers).
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and adapt to varying itineraries.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise deckhands and oversee all deck operations, including cargo handling, maintenance, and safety drills.
• Ensure compliance with maritime safety regulations and company policies.
• Coordinate with the Deck Officer and other senior crew members to plan and execute daily tasks.
• Maintain deck equipment and report any issues to the relevant authorities.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior deck crew members.

Contract Details

• Contract Type: Permanent
• Start Date: Immediate
• Salary: €3,500 per month, paid in Euros
• Work Location: Worldwide itinerary, with ports of call including Rotterdam, Singapore, and New York
