Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Bosun to join the crew of the MV Ocean Explorer, a research vessel operating on a worldwide itinerary. This is a permanent contract position with an immediate start date. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading deck operations, maintaining vessel equipment, and ensuring safety standards are upheld.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Bosun or in a similar deck leadership role.
- Valid STCW certification (including basic safety training).
- Proficiency in English (both written and spoken).
- Ability to work in a team and adapt to varying sea conditions.
- Experience with research vessel operations is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Supervise deckhands and coordinate daily deck activities.
- Maintain and repair deck machinery and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
- Assist with cargo handling and mooring operations.
- Support scientific missions as required.
Contract Details
Contract Type: Permanent
Start Date: Immediate
Salary: €3,500 per month
Itinerary: Worldwide, with ports of call including Rotterdam, Singapore, and Sydney.
