Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Captain for a Suezmax crude oil tanker operating within an international fleet. This position offers a competitive salary package with performance-based bonuses and a renewable contract.
Offer Details
- Salary: $14,000 + $1,500 RB per month
- Location: Flexible location (Anywhere), based with STMA ODESSA
- Contract: 4+1 month contract
- Vessel Type: Crude oil tanker (Suezmax, 157,484 DWT, built 2009 in South Korea)
- Hiring Company: STMA ODESSA (Tanker Fleet)
- Required Training: Master Mariner or equivalent nautical qualification with tanker specialisation
- Benefits: $1,500 performance bonus (RB), renewable contract, likely includes accommodation and board on board according to MLC 2006
Requirements
- Minimum 18 months experience in the same rank (Captain) on vessels of the same type (Suezmax)
- Good level of English
- Master Mariner or internationally recognised equivalent qualification
- Updated STCW certifications
- Specific tanker certifications (such as advanced training in crude oil loading/unloading operations)
Responsibilities
- Command and overall responsibility for the vessel, crew and cargo
- Compliance with international regulations (SOLAS, MARPOL, MLC 2006)
- Planning and supervision of navigation and loading/unloading operations
- Management of maritime safety and security (including ISPS plans)
- Coordination with port authorities and companies
- Maintenance of vessel records and documentation
