Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Third Engineer to join the crew of the container vessel MV POSEN. This position offers a competitive salary of $4,550 per month, with accommodation and meals provided onboard in accordance with the MLC 2006 Convention. The role involves a maritime contract (temporary or rotational, depending on the voyage duration) with Danica Crewing Services, a global maritime crewing provider.

Requirements

  • Valid Certificate of Competency (CoC) for Third Engineer
  • Previous experience on merchant vessels, preferably container ships
  • Proficiency in technical maritime English (for onboard communication and documentation)
  • Merchant Marine Engineer Officer qualification (Degree or equivalent Vocational Training) and mandatory STCW certifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Chief Engineer and Second Engineer in the operation and maintenance of the propulsion and auxiliary plant
  • Supervise machinery systems, including the main Mitsubishi engine of 20,298 kW
  • Perform engine room watches and scheduled maintenance tasks
  • Manage technical documentation and engine room records

  • Certificate of Competency (CoC)
  • Seaman’s Book
  • Updated STCW certificates (including basic training, safety, and specialised training)
  • Valid passport
  • Medical fitness certificate for seafaring
