Requirements
- 2 years of experience as Chief Engineer on offshore vessels
- At least 6 months of experience on the same type of vessel (ASD TUG)
- National and unlimited Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency (CE COC)
Responsibilities
According to STCW, typical functions include: supervision of the engine department, maintenance of propulsion and auxiliary systems, management of fuel and lubricants, compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and coordination with the captain in offshore operations.
