Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Bosun to join the crew of the MV Ocean Voyager, a cargo vessel operating on a worldwide itinerary. This is a permanent contract position with an immediate start date. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading deck operations, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining the vessel’s deck equipment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Bosun or in a similar deck leadership role on cargo vessels.
- Valid STCW certification (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers).
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment and adapt to varying itineraries.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Supervise deckhands and coordinate daily deck operations, including cargo handling and maintenance.
- Ensure all deck equipment is in good working order and conduct regular inspections.
- Implement and enforce safety procedures in compliance with maritime regulations.
- Assist the Deck Officer with navigation and watch duties as required.
- Maintain accurate logs and reports related to deck activities.
Contract Details
Contract Type: Permanent
Start Date: Immediate
Salary: €3,500 per month
Itinerary: Worldwide, with ports including Rotterdam, Singapore, and New York.
