Bosun – MV Ocean Voyager – Worldwide Itinerary

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Bosun to join the crew of the MV Ocean Voyager, a cargo vessel operating on a worldwide itinerary. This is a permanent contract position with an immediate start date. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading deck operations and ensuring the safety and maintenance of the vessel.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Bosun or in a similar deck leadership role.
  • Valid STCW certification (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers).
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and adapt to varying itineraries.
  • Strong leadership skills and a proven track record in vessel maintenance and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise deckhands and coordinate daily deck operations.
  • Oversee maintenance of deck equipment, rigging, and cargo handling gear.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and conduct regular safety drills.
  • Assist the Deck Officer with navigation and watch duties as required.
  • Maintain inventory of deck supplies and report any issues to the senior officers.

Contract Details

  • Salary: €3,500 per month, paid in Euros.
  • Contract Type: Permanent, with a standard maritime rotation schedule (e.g., 4 months on/2 months off, subject to vessel itinerary).
  • Start Date: Immediate, upon successful application and clearance.
