Bosun – MV Ocean Voyager – Worldwide Itinerary

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Bosun to join the crew of the MV Ocean Voyager, a cargo vessel operating on a worldwide itinerary. This is a permanent contract position with an immediate start date. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading deck operations and ensuring the safety and maintenance of the vessel.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Bosun or in a similar deck leadership role.
• Valid STCW certification (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers).
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work in a team and manage deck crew effectively.
• Willingness to travel and adapt to varying port schedules.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all deck operations, including cargo handling, mooring, and anchoring.
• Maintain and inspect deck equipment and safety gear.
• Supervise and train deckhands and other junior crew members.
• Ensure compliance with maritime safety regulations and company policies.
• Assist the Deck Officer and Captain as required.

Contract Details

• Salary: €3,500 per month, paid in Euros.
• Contract Type: Permanent, with a 6-month probation period.
• Start Date: Immediate, upon successful application.
• Application Deadline: 15th October 2023.
• Work Location: Worldwide itinerary, with ports in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
