Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Bosun to join the crew of the MV Ocean Voyager, a cargo vessel operating on a worldwide itinerary. This is a permanent contract position with an immediate start date. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading deck operations and ensuring the safety and maintenance of the vessel.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Bosun or in a similar deck leadership role.
- Valid STCW certification (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers).
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Ability to work in a team and manage deck crew effectively.
- Experience with cargo handling and deck maintenance procedures.
Responsibilities
- Supervise deck crew in daily operations, including mooring, anchoring, and cargo handling.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and conduct regular safety drills.
- Maintain deck equipment and oversee repairs as needed.
- Assist the Deck Officer with navigation and watch duties when required.
- Keep accurate logs and reports of deck activities.
Contract Details
- Salary: €3,500 per month, paid in Euros.
- Contract Type: Permanent, with a standard maritime rotation schedule.
- Start Date: Immediate, upon successful application.
