Requirements

Responsibilities
Typically, under the international STCW convention, the Chief Officer’s responsibilities on an AHTS vessel include supervising deck operations, planning anchoring and towing manoeuvres, and managing the deck crew. Additionally, the Chief Officer is responsible for onboard safety and assists the Master Mariner in navigation and vessel operations.
