Responsibilities

According to the international STCW convention, the duties of a Chief Officer on an AHTS vessel typically include supervising deck operations, managing onboard safety, and coordinating anchoring and supply manoeuvres. Additionally, the Chief Officer is expected to assist the Captain in route planning and crew management.
