Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Second Deck Officer for a General Cargo (GC) vessel. This is a 4-month contract position with a salary of 4000 EUR per month. The successful candidate will join the vessel approximately at the end of May. The vessel is a 3850 dwt General Cargo ship, Portuguese flag, built in 2024, and operated by Travelclub44 (German owners).

Requirements

  • Valid Certificate of Competency (CoC) for Second Deck Officer
  • Experience on general cargo vessels
  • Availability to join approximately at the end of May
  • Ability to work in a mixed crew environment

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Chief Officer with navigation watches
  • Supervise loading and unloading operations according to the stowage plan
  • Maintenance of deck and safety equipment
  • Compliance with onboard safety and security procedures
  • According to STCW, typical duties include supervision of navigation watches, maintenance of safety equipment, and assistance with port operations

Required Documentation

  • Certificate of Competency (CoC)
  • Seaman’s Book
  • Updated STCW training certificates
  • Valid passport
  • Medical fitness certificate
