Required Qualifications
- Merchant Marine Engineering Officer qualification or equivalent, with the required endorsements for Second Engineer
- Valid Certificate of Competency (CoC) for the position of Second Engineer
- BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training) certificate
- GWO (Global Wind Organisation) Sea Survival certificate
- Experience as Second Engineer on similar vessels (cable layers)
Responsibilities
- Supervision of the engine department under the direction of the Chief Engineer
- Maintenance of propulsion and auxiliary systems
- Management of the control room
- Compliance with safety and environmental regulations
- Additional responsibilities specific to cable laying systems on cable layer vessels
