Requirements

  • Certificate of Competency: Third Engineer Officer (3 Engineer) with ‘unlimited’ or higher endorsement
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year as Third Engineer Officer on MPOV DP2 vessels
  • Languages: English with Marlins test certificate 85% or higher
  • Nationality: Any nationality accepted

Functions

According to STCW, the typical functions of the Third Engineer Officer include: supervision of engine operations, maintenance of equipment, management of propulsion and auxiliary systems, and compliance with safety procedures on offshore vessels.
