Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Bosun to join the crew of the MV Ocean Explorer, a research vessel operating on a worldwide itinerary. This is a permanent contract position with an immediate start date. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading deck operations and ensuring the safety and maintenance of the vessel.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Bosun or in a similar deck leadership role.
- Valid STCW certification (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers).
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Ability to work in a team and adapt to varying sea conditions.
Responsibilities
- Supervise deckhands and coordinate daily deck operations.
- Oversee maintenance of deck equipment and safety gear.
- Assist with cargo handling and mooring operations.
- Ensure compliance with maritime safety regulations.
Contract Details
Contract Type: Permanent
Start Date: Immediate
Salary: €3,500 per month
Location: Worldwide itinerary, with ports of call including Rotterdam, Singapore, and Sydney.
