Description of the position and key responsibilities: An opportunity is available for a Chief Engineer on board a Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) DP2 with diesel-electric propulsion, Z-drive type. Key responsibilities include the daily maintenance and operation of the main engines Yanmar 6EY18ALW, as well as overseeing all mechanical and electrical equipment on board.

Requirements and qualifications: Age limit: up to 55 years old. Minimum experience of 12 months in the same rank on diesel-electric offshore vessels with a gross tonnage exceeding 3000 GT. DP maintenance certificate. Solid knowledge of English. Valid documentation required: passport, seafarer’s book, competency certificates, and STCW certificates. Full vaccination certificates (yellow fever, polio).

Additional details: Operating region: West Africa, Namibia. Joining date: Immediate, upon visa issuance. Contract duration: 2 months on board, followed by 2 months off.
