Navis Ship Management is seeking a Second Engineer to join a container ship sailing in the Caribbean and Central America. The contract will last 4 months, with a possible extension or reduction of 1 month, and the salary offered is 8,480 USD per month. The joining date is scheduled for mid-November. The candidate must hold a Second Engineer's Licence and have completed an English test within the last three months. A minimum of 24 months' experience in the rank on board container ships is required, as well as mandatory experience with 4-stroke engines. Full Covid-19 vaccination is essential. Under the STCW Convention, the Second Engineer is responsible for engine room watches, maintenance of propulsion and auxiliary systems, and assisting the Chief Engineer in managing the department. They must also comply with the safety and pollution prevention regulations set out in SOLAS and MARPOL.
