A Chief Officer is required to join a bulk carrier of 34,438 DWT with a B&W 5S50MC-C engine. The contract will last 4 months, with a variation of +/- 1 month, and embarkation is scheduled for 15 January 2027. The hiring company is Columbia Shipmanagement.
The Chief Officer is responsible for the deck department and the safety of the vessel, overseeing cargo operations, maintenance of the hull and deck equipment, and managing the navigational watch. Under the STCW Convention, the Chief Officer must hold a Certificate of Competency as Chief Officer and be current in basic and advanced training courses.
This position is aimed at officers with experience on bulk carriers who meet the certification and qualification requirements. A rotational contract is offered with terms to be agreed according to the applicable collective agreement.
