A Second Engineer is required to join an LNG carrier of 95,160 DWT and 23,800 BHP, built in 2026. The salary offered is 18,250 USD per month. Joining is managed through Techmarine.
Under the STCW Convention (Regulation III/2), the Second Engineer is the officer immediately below the Chief Engineer and is responsible for organising engine room watches and maintaining propulsion and auxiliary systems. On an LNG carrier, the role also involves supervising the specific gas containment and handling equipment, which requires accredited gas carrier training under the IGF/IGC Code.
Previous experience on LNG carriers is valued, along with compliance with the familiarisation and safety requirements set out in the IGC Code and SOLAS for this type of vessel.
