A Chief Officer DPO is required to join a research vessel with DP2 capability. The joining date is 9 November and the port of embarkation is in Brazil. The contract will be for a fixed term, as is customary for this type of offshore operation.
The successful candidate must hold a DP Unlimited certificate and have solid experience on offshore vessels, preferably research or support vessels. Under STCW, the Chief Officer is responsible for navigational watches and, in this case, also for dynamic positioning operations, as well as supervising deck activities and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
The vessel operates in Brazilian waters, so knowledge of the area and availability to join on the specified date will be valued. A contract for the duration of the campaign is offered, with terms to be agreed according to the candidate's experience.
