We are looking for a highly experienced Chief Engineer to join an AHTS DP2 vessel in Qatar. The vessel, built in 2010, has 12,000 BHP, 150t BP and 2,503 DWT. A minimum of 3 years' experience as Chief Engineer on AHTS DP2 vessels is required, along with a valid Chief Engineer CoC and a DP Maintenance Certificate. Previous experience with QatarEnergy (QE) / QatarEnergy LNG (QE LNG) is preferred but not mandatory. QE approval could take 3 weeks subject to all documents being compliant.
The salary offered is USD 420 per day, approximately USD 12,600 per month, plus HRA allowance as per IBF. The joining date is as soon as possible. Typical duties include supervising and maintaining propulsion and auxiliary systems, managing preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Experience with Niigata/CAT 3516 series machinery and CPP propulsion is required.
Under STCW, the Chief Engineer must hold a valid Certificate of Competency and be up to date with required training. The vessel operates in Qatar, so knowledge of local regulations and QatarEnergy requirements is advisable. A fixed-term contract with possibility of renewal is offered.
