An Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) is required to join a trailing hopper suction dredger (TSHD) of 26,100 kW, built in 2026, operating in Chinese waters. The contract is on a rotation of 6 weeks on board and 6 weeks off. Salary is negotiable at interview. A minimum of 2 years' experience as ETO on large modern dredgers is essential, along with specific TSHD experience. Applicants must hold an STCW 95/2010 pack, sea service stamp pages, and an ILO medical certificate. The joining date will be agreed at interview. Candidates should send their CV to crew@goldorion.eu.
Under the STCW Convention, the Electro-Technical Officer is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the ship's electrical and electronic systems, including propulsion, power generation and control equipment. On a dredger, they must also ensure the operation of electrical systems specific to dredging machinery, such as pumps, winches and positioning systems. Compliance with safety and pollution prevention regulations is also a key function.
