A Chief Engineer is required for a general cargo ship of 5,400 DWT, equipped with a Yanmar main engine of 1,920 kW and built in 2024. The offered salary is 8,371 euros per month. The joining arrangements will be coordinated with the owner Gota Shipping OU.
The Chief Engineer is the head of the engine department, overseeing the operation and maintenance of all propulsion and auxiliary systems. They must ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations and the availability of equipment. A Chief Engineer certificate and previous experience on general cargo ships are required.
Under the STCW Convention, the Chief Engineer must hold the appropriate certificate of competency and be up to date with training courses, including basic and advanced safety and engine management. Additionally, under the ISM Code, they are responsible for implementing the safety management system on board within their department.
