A cook is required to join a general cargo ship of 5,400 DWT, built in 2024 and equipped with a Yanmar main engine of 1,920 kW. The offered salary is 2,326 EUR per month. The contract will be for a fixed term, as is usual for this type of engagement.
The cook will be responsible for preparing meals for the crew, planning menus, managing provisions, and maintaining hygiene in the galley and storage areas. They must comply with food safety standards and applicable maritime regulations.
Under the STCW Convention, the cook must hold basic maritime safety training and, on ships with 10 or more crew members, a specific certificate of competency. Additionally, the MLC 2006 sets out accommodation and food requirements that the ship must meet.
