MERTRAMAR is seeking to hire a Senior Ship Operator for its agency department in Algeciras. The selected candidate will be responsible for processing the necessary documentation with port and customs authorities, as well as managing the services required by the client before and during the ship's call. They will also handle ship call management, delivery and collection of ship spares, administrative management and invoicing, and service quotations.
Previous experience in the maritime and port sector is required, along with knowledge of customs and port procedures and the ability to manage administrative and invoicing tasks. A fluent level of English is essential given the international nature of the operations. The position is based in Algeciras, one of Spain's main maritime gateways.
In accordance with STCW and standard industry practice, the senior ship operator must coordinate with masters and ship agents, ensuring compliance with SOLAS and MLC 2006 regulations regarding documentation and onboard services. A permanent contract is offered, along with the opportunity to develop within an established company in the sector.
