A Second Officer is required to join a Panamax bulk carrier of 92,524 DWT, built in 2007 in South Korea. The contract will last 4 months plus 2 months of leave, with joining expected in November. The salary offered is 4,300 to 4,400 USD per month, or the equivalent in euros.
The candidate must have at least 12 months of experience in the rank and on the same type of vessel, as well as good English. Under the STCW Convention, the Second Officer is responsible for navigational watches, the safety of the ship and assistance to the Master, as well as the maintenance of bridge equipment and nautical documentation.
The contracting company is STMA Odessa. Valid maritime documentation and a Deck Officer certificate are required.
