A Chief Officer is required to join a new-build chemical tanker in Fuzhou, China. The contract will last for 3 months and the offered salary is 9,500 USD per month. A minimum of 12 months of experience in the rank is required, along with previous experience on chemical and clean petroleum product (CPP/DPP) tankers. Young candidates are preferred.
Under the STCW Convention, the Chief Officer is responsible for navigational watches and the safety of the vessel, as well as supervising cargo operations. On a chemical tanker, the Chief Officer must ensure compliance with safety and environmental procedures and coordinate maintenance tasks with the rest of the officers.
