A Second Officer is required to join an expedition vessel with a joining date in March. The contract will last for 6 months, plus or minus 1 month, and the salary offered is 4,500 to 4,800 USD per month. A good level of English and previous experience in the rank are required.
Typical duties of the Second Officer include navigational watches, assistance to the Captain and Chief Officer, maintenance of bridge equipment, and supervision of the vessel's safety. Under the STCW Convention, the Second Officer must hold the appropriate certificate of competency and meet the training and certification requirements for deck officers.
