Full description

A Third Officer is required to join a general cargo ship (coaster) on a 6-month +/- 1 month contract. Joining is ASAP, with planned dates on 15 October, 15 November or 1 February. The salary offered is 3,300 USD per month. Good English and experience in rank are required. Under the STCW Convention, the Third Officer is responsible for keeping navigational watches under the supervision of the Master or Chief Officer, and for assisting in the maintenance of safety and life-saving equipment. On general cargo ships, they may also be involved in cargo operations, supervising lashing and stowage. The joining dates (15.10, 15.11, 01.02) suggest a rotation schedule; the typical contract on such vessels is 6 months, with the possibility of extension or reduction by one month.
