An engineer officer is required to join an oil/chemical tanker of 5,000-19,000 DWT. Joining is as soon as possible, with a deadline of 1 March. The contract will last 5-6 months, with a variation of plus or minus one month. The salary offered is 4,000 USD per month. A good level of English and experience in the rank are required.
Under the STCW Convention, engineer officers must hold the appropriate certificate of competency and be familiar with the ship's safety and emergency systems. On a chemical tanker, knowledge of chemical cargo handling procedures and specific safety measures is essential. Typical duties include engine room watchkeeping, maintenance of propulsion and auxiliary machinery, and supervision of cargo loading and unloading systems, in compliance with SOLAS and IMO regulations.
