A Chief Engineer is required to join a container ship on a 4-month +/- 1 month contract. Joining is scheduled between 15 January and 20 February. The salary offered is 9,500 to 9,800 USD per month. Good English and experience in the rank are required.
The Chief Engineer is the head of the engine department on board. He or she supervises the engineering officers and ratings and is responsible for the correct operation of propulsion, power generation and auxiliary systems, as well as compliance with safety and environmental regulations (MARPOL, SOLAS).
