Bosun – MV Ocean Voyager – Worldwide Itinerary

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Bosun to join the crew of the MV Ocean Voyager, a cargo vessel operating on a worldwide itinerary. This is a permanent contract position with an immediate start date. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading deck operations and ensuring the safety and maintenance of the vessel.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Bosun or in a similar deck leadership role.
  • Valid STCW certification (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers).
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to work in a team and manage deck crew effectively.
  • Experience with cargo handling and deck maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise deck crew in daily operations, including mooring, anchoring, and cargo handling.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and conduct regular safety drills.
  • Maintain deck equipment and oversee repairs as needed.
  • Assist the Deck Officer with navigation and watch duties when required.
  • Keep accurate logs and reports of deck activities.
