Description of the position and key responsibilities: We are looking for a Chief Engineer for a container ship with a capacity of 8,586 TEU and a deadweight tonnage of 102,518 DWT. Responsibilities will include supervising the maintenance and operation of the propulsion systems, specifically a WARSILA 12 RT Flex 96 C engine, ensuring its optimal performance throughout the voyage.
Requirements and qualifications: The ideal candidate must have previous experience as a Chief Engineer on ships of similar size and type, be familiar with WARSILA engines or other large engines, and hold relevant certifications for the maritime sector. A solid academic background in naval or mechanical engineering is valued.
Additional details: The contract offered is for 4 months, with a possible extension of 1 month, with embarkation planned for April 1, 2025.
