Chief Engineer for Heavy-Lift Vessel at Columbia Shipmanagement
Columbia Shipmanagement is currently seeking a Chief Engineer for a heavy-lift vessel with a deadweight tonnage of 32,312 tons (Dwt) and a capacity for 2,014 TEU, equipped with a SULZER WARTSILA 7RT-flex50 engine.
Key responsibilities of the role include maintaining and efficiently operating the vessel’s propulsion system, as well as all mechanical and electrical equipment on board. The Chief Engineer must ensure that the main engine and auxiliaries operate in accordance with established safety and efficiency standards, while supervising the onboard technical team.
Requirements and qualifications for this position include a background in naval or mechanical engineering, with a valid Chief Engineer certification. Previous experience on heavy-lift vessels or similar, preferably with SULZER WARTSILA engines, is also desired. The ideal candidate will have the ability to lead and motivate a diverse technical team, along with advanced knowledge of propulsion systems and preventive maintenance.
The offered contract is for a duration of 4 months, with the possibility of an extension of approximately 1 month, depending on operational circumstances and the candidate’s performance.
